The main characteristics of 309L TIG include:
- Good corrosion resistance: Thanks to its chromium and nickel content, 309L offers excellent corrosion resistance, even at high temperatures.
- High service temperature: It can be used at high temperatures, making it ideal for high-temperature applications.
- Low carbon content: The low carbon content reduces susceptibility to intergranular corrosion after welding.
This type of material is often used in industrial applications such as heat exchangers, industrial furnaces, chemical and petrochemical equipment, as well as in shipbuilding and marine applications.
